iPRO Course Structure
The course structure is
shown opposite, the OCR units alternating with the Microsoft MCP
Professional units.
Each OCR
unit has an assessment which must be completed before
progression to the next unit, assessments for the OCR units are
a combination of evidence gathering and competence assessment.
MCP units
have are associated with a Microsoft computer based examination.
The examinations for MCP units can be taken at any time during
the course.
The 2261/2
Microsoft Desktop Support Technician course is optional and not
strictly required for iPRO, However, delegates will need to take
this course and pass the associated exams to gain the MCDST
Certification and achieve the Microsoft Certified Systems
Administrator (MCSA) without studying additional MCP units. No
additional costs are incurred for delegates electing to take
this optional unit.
The
Microsoft Office Specialist, Microsoft Project element of the
OCR Unit 2 course is optional but is also offered at no
additional cost for those wanting to take advantage of it.
MSDNAA Software Scheme
Delegates on the iPRO course are eligible to take participate in
the Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA
Scheme).
The scheme offers you access to the range Microsoft Server,
Operating Systems and Developer software. This includes Windows
2003 Server, XP Professional, Virtual PC, Exchange, SQL Server,
Visual Studio, MS Project, MS Access, and Visio. These are full
products, not evaluations, demos or time limited. About the only
thing it doesn’t include is Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) but
as a bona-fide student you also qualify for the Student Edition
of Office of course!
ICT
Training makes a small charge to cover the administration
involved in providing you with MSDNAA software but no other fees
are payable and you can continue to use the software when you
finish the course. Software is made available to you under the
MSDNAA agreement so that you can use and learn the products and
experiment with them in your own time on your own equipment.
Software supplied under the MSDNAA Scheme must not to be used in
a production environment – to run a business for example – it is
for strictly for learning, development and research use only. |
